Cyanotype
To coat your and print cyanotype prints.
Preparations
Prepare stock solutions as described below.
(Should be enough to coat approx 10 sheets 8×10“)
Part A
| Ferriammoniumcitrate (green), | 6 gr |
| Water (deionized) | 25 ml |
(store in the dark)
Part B
| Potassium Ferricyanide, | 2.5 gr |
| Water (deionized) | 25 ml |
(store in the dark)
Instructions for use
Here is a general description on how to proceed
- Prepare solutions as above (store in dark).
- Mix equal proportions of part A + B. This work solution in sensitive to light.
(Approx 10 drops of A with 10 drops of B is enough to coat 12x12cm)
- Coat paper and let dry (in dark).
- Make a contact print in UV-ligth, approx 20 min in strong sun (outdoors).
- Develop by a rinse in water.
- A weak solution of citric acid may help to wash out all iron from the exposed print. Approx 3 tsk citric acid to 1000ml water. Treat for a couple of minutes.
- Make a final wash in running water for approx 10 minutes.
